Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Tab Destroyer is developed and operated by Bluestonetech, based in Hungary ("we", "us", the "developer"). For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Bluestonetech is the data controller for the limited anonymous data described below.

2. The short version
- We collect a small amount of anonymous usage analytics so we can understand how the product is used (how many rounds are played, the destroy/save/keep mix, share usage). Analytics are opt-out and on by default.
- We never collect your tab URLs, tab titles, favicons, screenshots, page content, browsing history, or any personal information. There is no account and no login.
- The gameplay screenshots that power the card deck are processed on your device only and are never transmitted anywhere.
- Subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details.
3. What we collect (anonymous usage analytics)
When analytics is enabled, the extension sends a small set of product-interaction events describing how the game is used. Representative events include: starting a game, destroying / keeping / saving a tab, undoing an action, completing a round, viewing the summary, opening the share sheet, selecting a share channel, opening saved tabs, and toggling analytics off.
Each event carries only:
- Running counts for the session — e.g. how many tabs were destroyed, saved, or kept, the total tab count, and which action type was undone. These are integers, not content.
- An anonymous install ID — a random UUID generated on your device the first time you use the extension. It is not a device identifier, advertising identifier, or account, and is not linked to your identity.
- A session ID — a random UUID scoped to a single play session.
- The platform (
safariorchrome), the app version, and a library tag.
What we never collect
On any event, the extension never transmits:
- Tab URLs or query strings
- Tab titles
- Favicons
- Screenshots of tab content
- Any page text, DOM content, cookies, form values, or clipboard data
- Any account, email, name, device identifier, IDFA, or IP-based identity
The destroy/save/keep events carry only the running tally of how many tabs were acted on — never which tab.
4. Gameplay screenshots stay on your device
The live tab screenshots that appear as cards are JPEG-encoded locally, held in memory for the duration of one game round, never written to disk, and never transmitted — not to our analytics, not anywhere. They exist only to render the game on your screen.
5. Who processes the analytics
Analytics events are sent over HTTPS to PostHog EU Cloud (https://eu.i.posthog.com), an analytics provider that hosts data in the European Union. PostHog acts as our data processor. We use a thin first-party request with a write-only public key — there is no third-party tracking SDK, CDN script, or posthog-js bundled in the extension.
6. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process this limited anonymous usage data on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the product. Because collection is opt-out and easily disabled in-app (see §8), and because the data contains no personal information and is not linked to your identity, the impact on you is minimal.
7. Retention
- Analytics events are retained by PostHog (EU) under its standard project retention. They are anonymous and not linked to any identity.
- The install ID is stored on your device. Uninstalling the extension clears it; reinstalling generates a new, unrelated one.
- Gameplay screenshots are in-memory only, for the duration of one round, and are never persisted.
8. Your control — turning analytics off
Analytics is opt-out, on by default. To disable it:
Settings → Privacy → "Share anonymous usage analytics" → turn OFF.
When you turn it off, the extension sends one final opt-out event and then sends nothing further for that install. You can turn it back on at any time.
9. Your rights
Because the data we collect is anonymous and not linked to your identity, we generally cannot identify you within it, which limits our ability to action identity-based requests (e.g. locating "your" records). You can, however:
- Stop all collection at any time via the in-app toggle (§8).
- Erase the on-device install ID by uninstalling the extension.
- Contact us at info@tabdestroyer.com with any privacy question. Where applicable under GDPR, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Hungary, the NAIH).
10. Subscriptions and payments
Tab Destroyer Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the Apple App Store. All billing, payment data, and renewal management is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment information.
11. Children
Tab Destroyer is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. The analytics described above are anonymous and contain no personal data.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where significant, surfaced in the app.
